Deepa Thomas is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists. She possesses Master’s degrees in Forensic Psychology and Applied Psychology (Clinical Psychology specialization), as well as a pre-doctoral degree in Medical and Social Psychology, with a focus on Psychiatry, Neuropsychology, and Clinical Psychology. Currently, she is pursuing a doctoral degree in Forensic Psychology.
Deepa has extensive experience in private, hospital, research, and educational settings across multiple countries, working with diverse individuals and mental health needs. Her diverse cultural perspective improves the precision and applicability of her evaluations. Deepa specializes in psychological assessments, including ADHD, autism, psychoeducational evaluations, giftedness assessments, IQ testing, and cognitive assessments. Her expertise provides valuable insights into cognitive strengths, learning profiles, and mental health, aiding individuals and families in accessing proper support and interventions. Deepa has significant experience in hospital settings, assessing patients who have brain injuries, victims of motor vehicle accidents, and the geriatric population. Her role entailed conducting cognitive assessments to identify cognitive impairments and formulating rehabilitation plans in collaboration with other rehabilitation departments. She is also proficient in performing cognitive assessments to detect early indicators of dementia.
Her background also includes training in therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based approaches. Deepa’s client-centered, supportive, and non-judgmental approach ensures comprehensive and insightful evaluations tailored to individual needs.
