Dr. Heather Burke is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and holds a Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. She has nearly a decade of clinical training and experience, with advanced training in both adult and pediatric assessment. Her doctoral training focused on adults and geriatrics, and she later completed post-doctoral specialization in children, youth, and neurodevelopmental assessment. She became fully registered as a psychologist in 2023. Her doctoral research focused on burnout and quality of life among long-term care nurses, reflecting her interest in health, resilience, and mental well-being.
Dr. Burke specializes in neurodevelopmental assessments for children and youth (e.g., Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, cognitive abilities, learning differences) and psychodiagnostic assessments for adults (e.g., ADHD, depression, anxiety, cognitive and emotional concerns). She has extensive hospital experience conducting assessments for acquired brain injury, dementia, and other neurological conditions, and developing psychoeducational and process-oriented groups supporting adjustment, coping, memory rehabilitation, and mental health for patients and caregivers. She has also worked in private practice, rehabilitation, and community mental health settings.
While her current practice focuses exclusively on assessment, Dr. Burke has training in ACT, CBT, and psychodynamic approaches and remains committed to ongoing personal and professional development to maintain a broad, evidence-informed perspective in her work.
