Dr. Rachelle Yu is a registered psychologist who received her Master of Arts and Ph.D. in Clinical Child Psychology from Simon Fraser University in B.C. Her clinical training is distinctive in its strong focus on children and adolescents, thereby establishing a strong foundation in developmental psychology. This specialized background informs her thoughtful and nuanced approach to psychological assessment across the lifespan. Her doctoral dissertation addressed developmental trajectories of ADHD in childhood and adolescence and their relation to harmful behaviours preceding premature mortality in adulthood.
She brings 12 years of clinical experience working in a variety of specialized pediatric hospital settings, including clinics focused on complex ADHD, autism, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), low mood and anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), medical psychology (e.g., diabetes, endocrine conditions, chronic pain). In addition to completing the Pre-Doctoral Residency in Pediatric and Child Psychology at Alberta Children’s Hospital in Calgary, Dr Yu has worked extensively with both youth and adults across several private practice clinics.
Dr. Yu specializes in comprehensive psychological assessments for ADHD, autism, and learning disorders. She works with children, youth, and adults, tailoring each assessment to the individual’s unique profile and referral questions. Her approach is warm, collaborative, and detail-oriented, with an emphasis on providing clear, meaningful insights and practical recommendations to support clients and families in moving forward with clarity and confidence.
